Escalla's Spring Newsletter

FOR APPRENTICES AND EMPLOYERS

Welcome Back To Our Quarterly Catch Up

I can’t say that soon enough! What an awful 15 months it has been for everyone and I am so happy to be writing this to you all.

So much has happened since the last newsletter and having to close the office last year. Joe and Helen have been keeping the office open since last July and Matt and Teddy have also joined them a couple of days a week!

We were fortunate to be able to switch to live online learning very quickly and Em is now the “GoTo Meeting” master! Em, Chester and Lindsay have ensured their apprentices continued learning and progressing and we have had some fantastic EPA results which we can tell you about later in this newsletter. The good news is that the office will be fully open from the 7th June although we are following government guidelines, and we hope to resume face to face training from August.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Academy!

Many thanks,

Claire - Director of Apprenticeships

Our New Level 3 Digital Support Technician Apprenticeship

A Digital Support Technician is a key role in the digital workplace revolution! As an in-demand occupation, this apprenticeship gives the opportunity for an apprentice to support and implement digital transformation.

Whether a large or small company, in the public or private sector, organisations are looking for people with digital support technician skills to achieve their digital business goals. This career pathway would suit anyone who has a passion for digital technology, can solve problems and work under their own initiative. For more information take a look at our programme outline, on our website.

New Apprentice Bonuses

New cash bonuses for new hires that start an apprenticeship have been announced. From 1st April 2021 until the 30th September 2021, businesses taking on new apprentices will be rewarded with an incentive of £3,000. This can be combined with the existing payment of £1000 for hiring an apprentice aged 16-18 - meaning you can receive up to £4000 per new apprentice hire.

There is no limit on the number of incentive payments and “the payment will be made directly to employers in two equal instalments, where the apprentice is still in learning at day 90 and day 365”. This means, unlike the current £1,000 payment to the employer for taking on a 16 to 18 year olds, the employer will need to claim the incentive payment via the online apprenticeship system from 1 September 2020.

Do you know any school or college leavers?

If you have a friend or family member who is ready to start earning, point them in our direction! An apprenticeship will offer them a perfect blend of theory and hands on experience along with a dedicated workplace mentor to guide them and a genuine head start into a career in technology. Their talents could see them creating solutions, helping their employer to transform the way they do business.  If they’re ready for the world of work, why wait?

Anyone who is interested should send a CV in to helen.oakes@escalla.co.uk or give Helen a call on 01270 500102.
