escalla Awarded Prestigious Accolade at the 2024 Personnel Today Awards

escalla is thrilled to share that we have been named the Learning & Development Supplier of the Year at the prestigious 2024 Personnel Today Awards! This accolade, announced at a dazzling ceremony hosted by Richard Ayoade at the Grosvenor House Hotel, recognises our commitment to delivering impactful and innovative L&D solutions through a variety of successful public sector projects.

The Personnel Today Awards, this year in its 26th year, celebrate the very best achievements and innovations in HR and learning and development, and we are honoured to be recognised among industry leaders.

Our recognition for the award is particularly owed to the immense success of our ‘Handling Difficult Situations with Compassion: Caring for yourself and others’ programme; designed in collaboration with and commissioned by NHS England to give frontline, patient-facing NHS workers the skills and techniques to handle difficult situations with compassion, including using appropriate communication techniques and active listening skills. Following a successful pilot, during which more than 2400 staff attended a session, Phase 2 expanded to train a further 5000 staff. Completed in March 2024, the final phase, Phase 3, delivered the original training to a further 1700 participants. This phase continued to deliver strong outcomes, with 93.6% of participants rating their training experience positively and 91.9% indicating they would recommend the training to their colleagues. New components were also introduced to extend the reach and long-term support of NHS staff, including additional Train-the-Trainer sessions and eLearning modules to enhance accessibility and flexibility.

Judges from the Personnel Today Awards said, “The eight companies that made it on to the shortlist for L&D Supplier of the Year each introduced schemes that successfully improved employee wellbeing, morale and workplace culture. However, escalla’s Compassionate Conversations programme proved particularly eye-catching for the judges with its lasting impact on NHS culture.”

Other successful escalla training programmes to note include the recent largest system transformation project for any Blue Light organisation, during which we onboarded over 100 trainers and 60+ facilitators, delivered almost 2 million modules of e-learning and 50,000+ delegate days of face-to-face learning.

Lou Mooney, escalla COO added, “We had a fantastic night at the Personnel Today awards, and to come away with the L&D Supplier of the Year award is testament to the hard work and dedication shown by everyone that has been part of team escalla on the many successful projects over the last few years! We are incredibly proud of this achievement and excited to continue to deliver our training services to our wonderful clients and partners.”
