My name is David Field. I'm a founder and chief executive of escalla.
Firstly I'd like to thank BEBA and the EBBC, the British Embassy and the DIT for making it possible for us to be here today.
My company has been at the forefront of delivering change programmes across the NHS for about 20 years.
We've been involved in delivering programmes such as patient safety, patient records systems, referral systems, and governance, to name a few.
We’ve been delivering the programmes using various techniques but most recently, using the internet and mobiles phone technology has become really important.
I’m very proud to say we were one of the first companies to be part of the Egyptian healthcare reform from the UK, and to have signed an agreement that’s part of the memorandum of understanding signed here in Cairo earlier this year between Her Majesty’s Government and the Egyptian Ministry of Health.
Under that programme, we're going to be bringing later this month a group of general practitioners and family doctors to the UK to look at UK primary, secondary and community healthcare pathways.
They’ll be meeting with GPs, with doctors, with nursing staff, in a variety of different settings, so they can fully appreciate the systems and processes that we use in the UK.
After that we'll be returning to Egypt and having sessions on what best practices they can take from what they saw in the UK, and how they can employ those and we're very proud to be part of the programme and be part of this historic movement.
