Universal Credit Complex Cases and latest changes

Learn how to deal with complex UC cases and keep up to speed with the latest Covid-19 changes.

The challenge:

The slow transition to Universal Credit continues to produce increasingly complex and challenging cases. Plus we have seen multiple UC regulation changes, in a short time frame - in response to Covid-19.

During this seminar, we'll take an in-depth look at the complex areas of UC plus the recent changes, so that your staff will have the knowledge and confidence to deal with queries and give the right advice to existing and potential clients.

The changes to the recent mixed-age couple regulations are one example, (for instance, what happens when a partner receives SDP? When does HB end? When do the HB working age / pensioner rules apply?). These complex rules are a real challenge, and if applied incorrectly, could leave a mixed-age couple £140 per week worse off!

Throw into the mix other aspects of UC, such as problems dealing with the severe disability premium, the new Employment and Support Allowance and UC (Coronavirus Regulations 2020) and successful legacy benefit appeals, and things become even more problematic.
